Cocoa Cake

A simple chocolate cake with no frosting just a dusting of cocoa Powder. Easy recipe that turns out perfect everytime.

Ingredients
  

  • cup (220g) Plain Flour See Notes
  • cup (30g) Cocoa Powder ( Preferably Dutch Cocoa)
  • 1 cup Caster Sugar
  • 2 Eggs At Room Temperature
  • ½ cup Yoghurt
  • ½ cup Canola Oil
  • tsp Baking Powder
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 tbsp Icing Sugar For Dusting.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven at 160 °C/ 320 °F.
  • Line a medium sized cake tin with baking paper.
  • In a mixing bowl add eggs, oil, sugar and yoghurt. Whisk until well combined.
  • In another bowl mix flour, cocoa powder , baking powder and salt.
  • Add wet ingredients into the flour and fold in untill well combined.
  • Pour the mixture in prepared tin and bake for 30-40 minutes or until skewer comes out clean.
  • Allow it to cool down on wiring rack. Dust it with icing sugar.

Notes

  • You can use self raising flour, omit baking powder if using it.
