Marinated in yoghurt and spices, these air fryer tandoori chicken drumsticks get ready in half the time it takes in conventional oven without compromising the authentic taste.
Traditionally Tandoori chicken is cooked in clay oven called Tandoor. But you don’t need a tandoor to create this spicy succulent chicken in your home using oven. Air Fryer makes this tasks even easier by reducing the cooking time in half !
Don’t have an Air Fryer ? This recipe can be completely done in oven too just like Tandoori Chicken Roast
Tandoori Chicken Spice Mix
Its all about the tandoori spice mix ! You don’t need any spice mix or tandoori paste. Create your own spice mix using common spices which are available in your spice cabinet or pantry
- Red Chilli Powder
- Kashmiri Red Chilli – it is very mild but has a very vibrant red colour which is signature of Tandoori chicken. If you don’t have Kashmiri red chilli, substitute with paprika.
- Cumin Powder
- Corriander Powder
- Garam Masala Powder
- Cracked Black Pepper
- Salt
You will only need a table spoon of this spice mix for this recipe, the remaining can be stored in a container/spice jar for upto couple of months.

Preheat air fryer for 5 mins at 185 C. I like to line the air fryer tray with foil, as it saves from cleaning up the air fryer later.
